Being an introverted leader is hard.
As a founder, I get asked to speak at events and podcasts from time to time.
For the most part, I say no.
However, it took me a long while to develop the courage to say no.
The world expects leaders to be loud, outspoken, and confident.
So at first, I felt a sense of shame whenever I passed on such opportunities.
But as time passed, I realized that it was far more effective for me to focus on my strengths instead of forcing myself to shore up on my weaknesses.
I’m able to share my thoughts and advice far more authentically and thoughtfully in small groups or through editorial/social platforms.
To all my fellow introverted leaders out there: you are so strong in ways that the world needs as well.
There’s no need to conform to the expectations of the world.
Introverted leaders, don’t be afraid to be yourself
