"Funnel" is probably not the best way to describe the customer journey 1

These days, I hesitate to use a “funnel” to describe the customer journey. Because what happens in reality isn’t so clearly linear.

People attend events.

People read case studies.

People ask other people.

People read reviews.

Just because the “last touch” was a particular action doesn’t mean it was the tipping point. In the same way, just because someone read a “top-of-funnel” blog post doesn’t mean they’re not ready to make a purchase.

Food for thought. #marketing
